Inky Juice
Obscure
Duration:
333 seconds
Materials:
ink
acrylic
oil
milk
shampoo
Music:
Masuda Toshio
Description:
As the previous pieces were still and only shows the results after the reaction of materials, so I recorded them to show how they react. The video looks into small particles of materials flowing and diluting. Audiences cannot predict the size of these materials, it can be small or big, deep or shallow.
The tiniest can be the mightiest, the small can be gigantic, the zero can be one. Obscure explores the movements of tiny and vast beings around us. You may see neutrons, atoms, molecules, cells or space, stars, nebula, even galaxies. You see what you want to see, or maybe more.
Lifeless Movement
Full duration:
10 minutes
Materials:
ink
acrylic
oil
glue
milk
shampoo
Description:
‘Lifeless Movement’ records the rhythmic movements of simple materials reacting with each other. The process of diluting, melting, pushing, blending and flowing within the lifeless materials seems to perform on a different realm than ours. Hence, rather than projecting the video on a surface, the process is shown on a screen laying on the floor to show how the video shooting was taken place. The main materials used are water, ink, acrylic, milk, oil and shampoo. Each material has their own unique behaviour and characteristic, shaping the movement and patterns on their own unique ways.
